Authorizes pharmacists to order and perform CLIA-waived tests and initiate treatment for influenza and streptococcus infections following statewide protocols, effective October 1, 2025

Prohibits pharmacists from treating conditions under this authority with any controlled substances classified in Schedules I through IV

Requires health benefit plans to cover healthcare services provided by pharmacists when performed within their licensed scope of practice and when the plan would have covered the same service from another provider

Mandates the State Health Director issue a standing order by October 1, 2025 authorizing pharmacist testing and treatment, remaining in effect until permanent rules take effect or January 1, 2027

Directs the NC Medical Board and Board of Pharmacy to adopt rules by October 1, 2025 establishing approved treatment protocols, patient referral parameters, and potential limits on how often patients can be treated by pharmacists
