Authorizes pharmacists to order and perform CLIA-waived tests to treat influenza, COVID-19, strep throat, and other health conditions following statewide protocols developed by the State Health Director in consultation with the Board of Pharmacy and Medical Board

Prohibits pharmacists from prescribing Schedule I-IV controlled substances when treating conditions under this expanded authority

Requires health benefit plans to cover healthcare services provided by pharmacists if the service is within their scope of practice and would have been covered if performed by another healthcare provider

Mandates that pharmacy benefits managers and third-party administrators follow the same prescription drug and pharmacy service coverage requirements as insurers

Takes effect October 1, 2025 for pharmacist testing/treatment provisions and for insurance contracts entered into, renewed, or amended on or after that date
