Prohibits courts from extending a probation term solely because the defendant failed to pay the $40 monthly probation supervision fee

Eliminates the mandatory $40 monthly supervision fee as a regular condition of supervised probation, though courts may still exempt individuals for good cause

Removes community service supervision fees previously required under G.S. 143B-708 and G.S. 143B-1483 for defendants performing community or reparation service

Applies the probation extension restriction to orders issued on or after the effective date, and fee eliminations to probation terms ordered on or after the effective date

Takes effect upon becoming law
