Health benefit plans that offer fertility treatment coverage must apply the same limitations to ovulation medication as other prescription medications, effective October 1, 2025

Annual and lifetime coverage limits are prohibited for ovulation medication and ovulation induction cycles when provided by in-network healthcare providers

NC State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees must remove annual and lifetime limits on ovulation medication and induction cycles starting January 1, 2026

Appropriates $300,000 in recurring funds for FY 2025-2026 and $600,000 in recurring funds for FY 2026-2027 to the Department of State Treasurer for increased State Health Plan costs

Does not require insurers to provide fertility treatment coverage; only applies if a plan already offers such coverage
