Public schools may conduct health care screenings (vision, hearing, dental, and developmental) without parental consent, but must notify parents at the beginning of the school year about all planned screenings and provide results for their child

Health care screenings are explicitly excluded from the definition of "health care services," which require parental consent

Covered screenings include vision, hearing, dental, and developmental screenings for cognition, language, and motor function

Amends G.S. 115C-76.45(a) and creates new section G.S. 115C-76.46 to establish separate notification requirements for health screenings versus health care services
