Legislative management shall conduct a study of developmental education issues during the 2011-12 interim.

Study must review secondary schools attended by students requiring developmental education and identify reasons students need developmental education.

Study must examine efforts to reduce developmental education enrollment at higher education institutions and alignment of K-12 education standards, curriculum, and textbooks with higher education admissions standards.

Study must identify best practices for alleviating developmental education at higher education institutions.

Legislative management shall report findings, recommendations, and any necessary legislation to the 63rd legislative assembly.
