Amends North Dakota Century Code section 57-40.6-10 to modify requirements for dispatching emergency medical services to medical emergencies.

Requires the closest available emergency medical service to be dispatched to medical emergencies regardless of city, county, or district boundaries, beginning June 1, 2002.

Directs the state department of health to provide emergency 911 telephone systems with geographical information needed to implement this dispatch requirement.

Allows quick response units whose primary function is not emergency medical services to elect not to be dispatched to emergencies outside their primary response area if an advanced life support ambulance service covers that outside area.

Entities that elect not to be dispatched outside their primary response area become ineligible for emergency medical services allocation under chapter 23-40.
