Department of Human Services shall provide Medicaid supplemental payments to critical access hospitals and seek federal Medicaid funding to support these payments.

Legislative Management shall study patient-centered medical homes during 2011-12 interim, evaluating impacts on health care savings, medical results, and critical access hospitals, with findings due to the 63rd legislative assembly.

Legislative Management shall study the future of health care delivery in rural areas during 2011-12 interim, including input from University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center for Rural Health, hospitals, and the medical community.

$1,527,802 appropriated from the general fund and $1,926,259 from federal funds to the Department of Human Services for the biennium July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013, designated as one-time funding.

Department shall report to the appropriations committees of the 63rd legislative assembly on the use of this one-time funding.
