Amended section 12-63-11 to allow peace officers to request and retain inactive license status indefinitely if they maintain continuing education requirements and renew their license according to board requirements.

Inactive status licensees must meet the same qualifications, testing, and insurance requirements as active status licensees.

Created a new section to chapter 43-30 allowing the board to issue a license to individuals who are peace officers with inactive peace officer licenses under chapter 12-63, notwithstanding section 12.1-13-04.

Peace officer licenses expire three years from issuance and require renewal with proof of continuing education and payment of renewal fees.

The board may grant late renewal up to one year after license expiration upon payment of a late fee.
