• Prohibits public and private employers from preventing customers, employees, or invitees from possessing legally owned firearms that are locked inside or locked to a private motor vehicle in a parking lot.

• Prohibits employers from inquiring about, searching for, or taking action against individuals based on the presence of firearms in private vehicles, with searches only permitted by on-duty law enforcement officers.

• Prohibits employers from conditioning employment on concealed weapons license status or agreements that prevent employees from keeping legal firearms locked in personal vehicles.

• Exempts schools, correctional facilities, properties involved in national defense or explosive materials, employer-owned vehicles, and properties subject to federal law or contracts from these requirements.

• Provides civil cause of action for violations with courts awarding reasonable personal costs, losses, court costs, and attorney's fees to the prevailing party; employers have no duty of care or liability for actions taken in compliance with the law.
