SB2133 Summary

• Licensed retailers and employees may verify proof of age for alcoholic beverage purchases by inspecting a valid driver's license, identification card from North Dakota or another state/Canadian province, military ID card, or U.S. passport.

• Licensed retailers or their employees may seize identification displayed as proof of age if they have reasonable belief the ID has been altered, falsified, or is being used to unlawfully obtain alcoholic beverages.

• Retailers must notify law enforcement within 24 hours of seizing false identification, and law enforcement must take possession of the ID within 24 hours of receiving notice.
