Each school district and nonpublic school sponsoring athletic activities must implement a concussion management program that clearly describes concussion signs and symptoms.

Officials must remove students from competition and coaches or athletic trainers must remove students from practice if the student reports concussion symptoms, exhibits symptoms, or is reported by a health care provider to have symptoms.

Any removed student must be examined as soon as practicable by a licensed health care provider and cannot return to athletics without written authorization from such a provider.

All officials, coaches, and athletic trainers must receive biennial training on concussion nature and risk, and students and parents must document viewing school-provided concussion information before participation.

The legislative management shall study concussion management programs during the 2011-12 biennium and report findings and recommendations to the sixty-third legislative assembly.
