Owners and operators of public places and places of employment where smoking is prohibited must post no smoking signs at the location, at every entrance, and on work vehicles, and remove all ashtrays from prohibited areas.

Owners and operators must communicate to all existing and prospective employees by December 6, 2012, that smoking is prohibited in the facility.

Owners and operators must direct persons smoking in violation to extinguish their product and leave the premises; failure to comply requires the owner to refuse service and report the violation to an enforcement agency.

Owners and operators may request no smoking signs from the executive committee of the tobacco prevention and control advisory committee to comply with signage requirements at no cost.

The executive committee is authorized to provide signs necessary for compliance with signage requirements upon request from public place and workplace owners.
