School districts must pay the lesser of the actual advanced placement credit cost or the highest amount charged by state board of higher education institutions for students who successfully complete advanced placement courses.

School districts are entitled to reimbursement from the superintendent of public instruction for advanced placement credit costs paid on behalf of students.

School districts' responsibility for paying dual-credit and advanced placement costs is limited to a combined total of nine credits per student.

Students and their parents remain responsible for any tuition charges exceeding the school district's payment obligation, plus all other costs including fees, textbooks, materials, and equipment.
