Amends North Dakota Century Code section 34-14-04.1 to clarify permitted employer wage deductions and withholdings from employee compensation.

Allows employers to withhold only amounts required by state or federal law or ordered by court, plus deductions specifically authorized in writing by employees.

Permits deductions for advances paid to employees (excluding undocumented cash), recurring deductions authorized in writing, and nonrecurring deductions when the source is specifically cited in writing.

Requires nonrecurring deductions for damage, breakage, shortage, or negligence to be authorized by the employee at the time the deduction is made.

Passed the North Dakota Senate 46-0 and House 94-0 during the 2013 regular session.
