SB2262 Summary

• Amends and reenacts sections 57-40.6-01, 57-40.6-08, 57-40.6-10, and 57-40.6-12 of the North Dakota Century Code relating to 911 service fees and definitions.

• Repeals sections 57-40.6-02, 57-40.6-03, 57-40.6-03.1, 57-40.6-04, and 57-40.6-05 that previously regulated specific fee structures and requirements.

• Modifies the Emergency Services Communications Coordinating Committee's duties to develop guidelines for allowable uses of 911 fee revenue and recommend income adjustments to the legislative assembly instead of maximum fee amounts.

• Requires the committee to make recommendations to the state treasurer on factors for allocating 911 funding based primarily on county population and secondarily on other factors.

• Appropriates $20,000,000 from the general fund to the state treasurer for 911 services funding for the biennium July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015.
