HB 1111 Summary

• Extends child support obligations through the end of the month a child graduates high school or turns 19, whichever comes first, if the child is enrolled and attending high school and resides with the custodial parent.

• Requires child support orders to be reviewed every 36 months and amended if payments fall outside 85-115% of guideline amounts; allows obligors to provide income information with review requests to streamline the process.

• Establishes that each child support order must identify which parent is authorized to claim the child as a dependent for tax purposes.

• Allows child support agencies to establish liens on vessels and personal property electronically through the central indexing system (effective after July 31, 2015).

• Repeals provisions allowing motions to modify child support at any time and requires the Department of Human Services to report to legislative management by July 1, 2016, on driver's license revocation effectiveness as an enforcement tool.
