Legislative management shall conduct a study during the 2015-16 interim on verification of citizenship status for voting purposes, including absentee and mail ballot voting.

Study must examine the department of transportation's process for verifying citizenship status when issuing driver's licenses and nondriver identification cards.

Study must evaluate the feasibility and desirability of requiring the department of transportation to include a notation on driver's licenses and nondriver identification cards indicating whether the holder is not a U.S. citizen.

Legislative management shall report findings, recommendations, and any necessary implementing legislation to the sixty-fifth legislative assembly.
