Legislative Management directed to study the system of care for individuals with brain injury, including available services, implementation of new services and programs, effectiveness of those services, and gaps in services.

Study may utilize an independent consultant if necessary.

Previous 2013-14 interim Human Services Committee found North Dakota lacks a comprehensive system of care for traumatic brain injury survivors, who often do not qualify for state programs.

Other states with effective brain injury systems provide centralized information services, supportive housing services, and day support services to help individuals reside independently and maintain employment.

Legislative Management required to report findings, recommendations, and any necessary implementing legislation to the Sixty-fifth Legislative Assembly.
