SB 2016 Summary

• Appropriates $85,963,536 in total funds to the National Guard (Subdivision 1) and $153,022,109 to the Department of Emergency Services (Subdivision 2) for the biennium beginning July 1, 2015, and ending June 30, 2017.

• Appropriates $1,500,000 from the general fund to the Information Technology Department for planning and coordinating implementation of a statewide radio interoperability network.

• Appropriates $2,000,000 from the state disaster relief fund to the Adjutant General for repair and replacement of infrastructure and debris removal in recreation service districts experiencing chronic flooding.

• Authorizes the Adjutant General to transfer up to $500,000 between line items for maintenance and repairs of state-owned armories and to transfer appropriation authority for state employee compensation adjustments.

• Declares emergency status for $500,000 in veterans' bonus program funding, $386,000 for next generation 911 implementation, $209,280 for next generation 911 maintenance, $382,000 for statewide base map maintenance, and $2,000,000 for disaster infrastructure repair.
