Amends North Dakota Century Code section 23-06-03 to allow county social service boards to provide military caskets or urns for deceased veterans when the county pays for burial or cremation expenses.

Military caskets or urns may be provided only if the deceased was a veteran as defined in section 37-01-40, unless the additional cost exceeds negotiated funeral expenses.

Surviving spouses or nearest kin may elect to use a nonmilitary casket instead of a military casket or urn.

Minimum total charges for burial services, including transportation, grave box or vault, grave space, and grave opening and closing expenses, may not be less than one thousand five hundred dollars.
