• Creates a limited lines travel insurance producer license allowing licensed managing general agents, third-party administrators, or designated insurance producers to sell travel insurance through licensed insurers.

• Permits travel retailers to offer and disseminate travel insurance on behalf of limited lines producers if they provide customers with coverage details, claim filing procedures, policy cancellation information, and insurer contact information.

• Requires limited lines producers to maintain and annually update a register of all travel retailers offering insurance on their behalf, including retailer names, addresses, federal tax identification numbers, and compliance certification with federal law.

• Prohibits unlicensed travel retailer employees from evaluating insurance terms, advising on existing coverage, claiming to be licensed professionals, or receiving direct commissions from insurers for sales.

• Grants the insurance commissioner authority to impose corrective action plans, revoke travel retailer authorizations, suspend or revoke producer licenses, issue cease and desist orders, and impose monetary fines for violations.
