Amends North Dakota Century Code section 34-02-01 to modify employer indemnification obligations to employees for work-related expenses and losses.

Employers must indemnify employees for necessary expenses incurred in discharge of duties or obedience to employer directions, except where employee believed directions were unlawful at the time of obedience.

Adds exception that employers are not required to indemnify employees for expenses to purchase or rent tools of a trade or other equipment that the employee also uses outside the scope of employment.

Passed the Senate 47-0 and the House 63-24 during the 2015 regular session.
