ND HB1098

Establishes that prekindergarten and kindergarten teachers must be licensed or approved to teach by the Education Standards and Practices Board and hold one of seven credential options including majors, major equivalencies, or minors in elementary education or early childhood education.

Allows teachers licensed or approved at the elementary level to teach grades one through eight if they hold a major or major equivalency in elementary education.

Allows teachers licensed or approved at the middle level to teach grades five through eight if they hold a major or major equivalency in middle level education.

Allows secondary-level licensed or approved teachers to teach any subject at grades five through twelve if they hold a major, major equivalency, minor, or minor equivalency in the subject area being taught.

Repeals sections 15.1-18-07, 15.1-18-08, and 15.1-18-09 of the North Dakota Century Code and declares the act an emergency measure.
