Senate Bill No. 2024 Summary

• Transfers responsibility for providing smoking prohibition signage from the tobacco prevention and control advisory committee to the state department of health.

• Eliminates automatic transfers from the water development trust fund to the tobacco prevention and control trust fund and requires the legislature to appropriate funds for the tobacco prevention and control trust fund directly.

• Adds the tobacco prevention and control executive committee to the list of state agencies required to obtain centralized desktop support services from the information technology department, then removes it from that list.

• Repeals chapter 23-42 of the North Dakota Century Code, which established the tobacco prevention and control program.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2017, and is declared an emergency measure.
