SB 2137 Summary

• Amends microbrew pub licensing to allow transfer of manufactured malt beverages between microbrew pubs owned by the same entity, in addition to existing restrictions on wholesaling activities.

• Expands brewer taproom license provisions to allow multiple taproom licenses for breweries producing no more than 25,000 barrels annually, with production required at each location.

• Permits brewer taproom licensees to sell beer directly to retailers within the state up to 10,000 barrels per year using the brewery's own equipment and employees, with individual daily deliveries limited to eight barrel equivalents per retailer.

• Adds provision allowing tax commissioner to issue special event permits for up to 20 events per calendar year to microbrew pubs and brewer taprooms for free samples and glass sales at off-premises events.

• Authorizes brewer taproom licensees to transfer manufactured malt beverages between taprooms they own while maintaining restrictions on ownership interests in other manufacturers, brewers, importers, wholesalers, or retailers.
