Amends North Dakota Century Code section 12.1-17-02 to enhance penalties for aggravated assault when the victim is a peace officer or correctional institution employee acting in an official capacity.

Establishes that aggravated assault is a class C felony under four conditions: willfully causing serious bodily injury, knowingly causing bodily injury with a dangerous weapon, causing bodily injury while attempting to inflict serious injury, or firing a firearm at another person.

Elevates aggravated assault to a class B felony if the victim is under twelve years of age, is a peace officer or correctional institution employee acting in an official capacity (which the actor knows), or suffers permanent loss or impairment of bodily function.
