Commission on Legal Counsel for Indigents shall pay witness fees, mileage, and travel expenses for witnesses subpoenaed by counsel employed by or contracted with the commission in juvenile court proceedings.

Attorney General continues to pay witness fees, mileage, and travel expenses for other witnesses in juvenile court proceedings, at the rates provided in section 31-01-16.

State agencies with legal custody of a child must reimburse the county for transportation costs related to court-ordered medical and other examinations and treatment at the state mileage rate plus 29 cents per mile, excluding meals and lodging.
