Allows an insured to assert a different fire protection class within 30 days of policy quote, issuance, or renewal if supported by credible factual information, and requires the insurer to implement the asserted class.

Gives insurers 90 days from receipt of an insured's assertion to investigate and either change the fire protection class effective from the policy date or document the basis for the original class.

Requires insurers to inform the insured of their determination regarding the fire protection class dispute.

Applies to insurance policies issued or renewed for real property in North Dakota on and after the effective date of the Act.
