Expands the definition of "health care provider" to include physician assistants alongside physicians and advanced practice registered nurses for medical marijuana certifications.

Allows veterans receiving treatment from federal Veterans Affairs entities to substitute VA medical records and discharge documents in place of a written certification to qualify for medical marijuana.

Establishes a 30-day purchase limit of 2.5 ounces of dried cannabis flowers/leaves and a 2,000 milligram cumulative limit of tetrahydrocannabinol in concentrates and medical products for registered qualifying patients.

Requires disclosure on all applications that firearm possession by marijuana users may violate federal law.

Changes provider notification requirements from "shall" to "may" when terminating a patient's marijuana eligibility, allowing providers to notify the department if a bona fide provider-patient relationship ends.
