Amends North Dakota Century Code section 18-01-03.1 to require the state fire marshal to provide education to the Department of Human Services regarding fire safety requirements for licensed early childhood program premises.

Education provided must cover smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm requirements at early childhood facilities.

State fire marshal and deputies may perform fire safety inspections of facilities required to be inspected under Department of Human Services administrative rules.

Inspection fees not to exceed $50 must be determined by administrative rules adopted by the state fire marshal and deposited into the attorney general's operating fund.

Passed with bipartisan support: House vote 80-11-3, Senate vote 45-0-2.
