Amends North Dakota Century Code section 12.1-05-07 to prohibit use of more force than necessary and appropriate under the circumstances.

Removes language requiring individuals to retreat before using deadly force in self-defense or defense of others when necessary to prevent death, serious bodily injury, or felonies involving violence.

Exempts public servants from duty to retreat when using force in performance of official duties or individuals assisting public servants.

Exempts individuals from retreat requirement within their own dwelling, place of work, or occupied motor home or travel trailer unless they were the original aggressor.

Maintains existing justifications for deadly force by law enforcement, guards, physicians, and individuals acting under authorization of public servants.
