Directs legislative management to study privacy practices in the data broker industry during the 2019-20 interim to assess whether adequate safety measures exist to prevent fraud and protect consumer identifying information

Requires consultation with the department of commerce and the attorney general during the study

Mandates evaluation of the nature and sources of consumer information collected by data brokers, how they use, maintain, and disseminate that information, and consumer access to their own data

Requires assessment of the extent to which data brokers allow consumers to access and correct their information or opt out of having personal information sold

Directs legislative management to report findings, recommendations, and any necessary implementing legislation to the sixty-seventh legislative assembly
