The North Dakota Legislature urges Congress to provide medical coverage for hyperbaric oxygen therapy for veterans.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a treatment that involves inhaling 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized chamber to enhance the body's natural healing process.

The resolution cites that between 1.6 million to 3.8 million concussions occur annually and traumatic brain injury accounts for approximately 2 million emergency room visits and 52,000 deaths per year.

The resolution argues hyperbaric oxygen therapy has emerged as a promising and effective treatment for healing brain injuries and reducing symptoms associated with traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress disorder.

The Secretary of State is directed to forward copies of the resolution to each member of Congress.
