Senate Bill 2297 Summary

• Authorizes the North Dakota building authority to issue $100,000,000 in evidence of indebtedness for five higher education capital projects through June 30, 2021, with lease payments beginning July 1, 2021

• Allocates bonded funds to: NDSU Dunbar Hall ($40,000,000), Valley City State University Communications and Fine Arts Building ($30,000,000), NDSU agriculture products development center ($20,000,000), University of North Dakota Gamble Hall ($6,000,000), and Dickinson State University Pulver Hall ($4,000,000)

• Appropriates $49,900,000 in general fund money for the same projects plus additional projects at Bismarck State College, Dakota College at Bottineau, and Lake Region State College for the period through June 30, 2019

• Conditions bonded funding for NDSU agriculture center and UND Gamble Hall on institutions certifying they have obtained matching $20,000,000 and $55,000,000 in local and other funds respectively, or receiving legislative approval for project scope changes

• Authorizes Northern Crops Institute to begin fundraising and develop a proposal for a building project to request funding from the 67th Legislative Assembly
