Amends section 54-17.4-02 of the North Dakota Century Code to add a new responsibility (item 16) requiring the North Dakota Geological Survey to cooperate with other agencies in maintaining a global positioning system community-base station and making data available to the public.

Repeals section 54-17.4-12 of the North Dakota Century Code relating to the duties of the state geologist.

Maintains 15 existing responsibilities of the North Dakota Geological Survey including geological research, public education, resource assessment, and technical assistance to government agencies.
