• Microbrew pubs must obtain both brewer and retailer licenses and are limited to manufacturing no more than 10,000 barrels of malt beverages annually.

• Direct sales of beer to licensed retailers are permitted if the microbrew pub uses its own equipment and employees for delivery, limits individual deliveries to 8 barrels per day per retailer, and does not use common carriers.

• Off-premises beer sales are restricted to brewery-sealed containers of not more than 12 ounces, with a maximum daily limit of 288 ounces per customer.

• The tax commissioner may issue special event permits for up to 20 days per calendar year allowing free samples and beer sales at trade shows, conventions, festivals, and fundraisers hosted by nonprofit organizations.

• Microbrew pubs may transfer beer in bulk to affiliated microbrew pub licensees (85% or more ownership) under specified conditions, including a 50-percent limit on transferred beer and a minimum 5,000-gallon production requirement for the receiving licensee.
