Legislative management shall study the development of a licensing system authorizing county correctional employees to carry firearms while transporting inmates during the 2021-22 interim.

Study must include input from the North Dakota sheriffs and deputies association, state jail administrators, the North Dakota peace officer standards and training board, the department of corrections and rehabilitation, and all other interested parties.

Legislative management shall report findings, recommendations, and any necessary legislation to the sixty-eighth legislative assembly.
