Amends North Dakota Century Code section 12.1-17-01 to elevate assault charges when the victim is employed or contracted by a health care facility and the assault occurs on the facility property to a class C felony.

Defines "health care facility" to include hospitals, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, laboratories, offices of licensed medical professionals under title 43, and any waiting rooms, hallways, private rooms, wards, and mobile or temporary facilities within these locations.

Requires the actor to know the victim is employed or contracted by a health care facility for the enhanced class C felony charge to apply.

Maintains existing class C felony designations for assaults on peace officers, correctional institution employees, state hospital employees, individuals engaged in judicial proceedings, and fire department or emergency medical services personnel.

Classifies simple assault as a class B misdemeanor except when the enhanced circumstances listed above apply.
