Amends North Dakota Century Code section 15.1-21-02.3 to establish eligibility criteria for students to pursue an optional high school curriculum after completing at least two years of high school.

Students qualify if they fail to pass at least one-half unit from three subdivisions of standard requirements, fail to demonstrate proficiency in standards-based grading, or have a grade point average at or below the twenty-fifth percentile of same-grade peers.

Requires written parental consent and a meeting between student, parent, career advisor, guidance counselor, or principal before pursuing the optional curriculum.

Optional curriculum requires four units of English language arts, two units of mathematics, two units of science, three units of social studies, one unit of physical education or one-half unit each of physical education and health, two units from foreign languages/Native American languages/fine arts/career and technical education, and any seven additional units.

Students completing the optional curriculum requirements receive a high school diploma (House passed 91-0; Senate passed 47-0).
