Appropriates $8,450,000 from the general fund to the attorney general for a peace officer and correctional officers appreciation grant program for the biennium July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.

Provides grants to state agencies and political subdivisions on a reimbursement basis for peace officers licensed in good standing under chapter 12-63 who have been employed in law enforcement capacity for at least four consecutive years.

Provides grants to the department of corrections and rehabilitation based on the number of correctional officers employed for at least four consecutive years.

Requires grant recipients to use funds only to provide each eligible peace officer or correctional officer an appreciation salary bonus of up to $6,000 at the end of each fiscal year.

Designates the funding as one-time only and directs the attorney general to establish an application process and eligibility requirements in consultation with the peace officer standards and training board and department of corrections and rehabilitation.
