Agriculture Commissioner shall study challenges associated with native pollinating insects, including their decline, ecosystems, health, and resilience.

Study must identify significance of healthy pollinator communities, summarize native pollinator health knowledge, and identify factors negatively affecting pollinating insects, existing conservation projects and funding gaps.

Commissioner shall report findings and recommendations to legislative management by June 1, 2026, including proposals for education programs, inter-agency coordination, and native pollinating insect protection strategies.

$25,000 appropriated from general fund to Agriculture Commissioner for the pollinator study or contracting with a private entity, covering the biennium July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.

Section 1 of the Act expires July 31, 2026.
