Adds subsection 5 to section 15.1-15-12 of the North Dakota Century Code regarding short-term school district employment contracts.

Allows school districts to employ individuals in positions substantially funded by grant funds, overloads, or temporary funding sources under short-term contracts.

Permits individuals replacing school district employees in positions funded by grant funds, overloads, or temporary funding sources to be employed under short-term contracts.

Requires that individuals receive advance notice of the defined contract term before accepting employment with the school district.

Passed the House 92-0 (2 absent) and the Senate 47-0 during the 2023 legislative session.
