Peace officer contributions to the public employees retirement system increase by one percent of monthly salary beginning January 2024 and again beginning January 2025, on top of previous increases.

For peace officers employed before August 1, 2023, normal retirement date is age 55 with at least 3 years of employment; for those employed after July 31, 2023, normal retirement date is age 55 with at least 10 years of employment.

For peace officers employed before August 1, 2023, early retirement date is age 50 with at least 3 years of employment; for those employed after July 31, 2023, early retirement date is age 50 with at least 10 years of employment.

Normal retirement benefits for bureau of criminal investigation peace officers equal 3 percent of final average salary for the first 20 years of credited service, plus 1.75 percent for years exceeding 20 years.
