State board of higher education may not prohibit individuals authorized to carry concealed firearms or dangerous weapons under state law from possessing them on college or university campuses, in campus buildings or facilities, or at other institutions under the board's control.

State board of higher education employees are prohibited from interfering with the carrying of concealed firearms or dangerous weapons by authorized individuals on campuses or institution grounds.

Individuals are permitted to carry spray or aerosol containing CS (ortho-chlorobenzamalonitrile) or CN (alpha-chloroacetophenone) or other irritating defense agents on college or university campuses and institution facilities.

Political subdivisions, including home rule cities or counties, and state agencies including colleges, universities, and higher education institutions may not enact ordinances, rules, or regulations restricting firearms and ammunition that are more restrictive than state law; all existing such ordinances, rules, and regulations are void.

Persons aggrieved by unlawful firearms ordinances may bring civil action against a political subdivision for damages.
