Appropriates $29,000 from the general fund to the attorney general for a law enforcement staffing grant program for the biennium July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.

Grants available to local police departments in communities that have experienced a significant increase in registered sex offenders to hire additional law enforcement staff.

Eligible expenditures include salaries, overtime, training, and equipment purchases for existing and newly hired law enforcement staff.

Attorney general shall establish guidelines for distributing grants under the program.

Directs legislative management to study during the 2023-24 interim the feasibility of creating a multijurisdictional sexual predator task force, including stakeholder input and interagency coordination analysis, with findings and recommendations reported to the sixty-ninth legislative assembly.
