Amends definitions in North Dakota Century Code sections 23-09-01 through 23-09-07 related to food establishments, lodging establishments, and assisted living facilities.

Adds "child care food service establishment" definition for food service prepared in kitchens operated by licensed child care providers serving more than thirty children.

Adds "Department" definition identifying the Department of Health and Human Services as the regulatory authority.

Expands "assisted living facility" definition to include at least five living units serving five or more unrelated individuals with individualized support services to maintain independence.

Updates fire safety and exiting requirements for lodging establishments and assisted living facilities to reference state building code chapter 54-21.3 and state fire code chapter 18-01, including fire escape maintenance, exit lighting, exit signage, and elevator fire protection requirements.
