Legislative management must study feasibility, siting, and deployment of advanced nuclear power plants in North Dakota during the 2025-26 interim, including evaluation of greenfield and brownfield sites, grid connectivity, land use, economic impacts, and nuclear waste storage options

Study must examine small modular and micro nuclear reactors and identify any North Dakota Century Code provisions restricting advanced nuclear energy development

Committee includes 2 energy industry representatives, appointees from public service commission, industrial commission, and department of water resources, plus 6 legislators (3 from each chamber with bipartisan representation)

Appropriates $300,000 from the general fund plus $300,000 in matching funds from grants or private sector donations for consulting services, for the 2025-2027 biennium

Passed House 77-14 and Senate 44-2; findings and recommendations to be reported to the 70th Legislative Assembly
