North Dakota joins the Social Work Licensure Compact, allowing licensed social workers holding a multistate license from their home state to practice in all participating member states without obtaining separate licenses in each state

Multistate licenses cover three categories of social workers: clinical (requiring 3,000 hours or 2 years supervised practice plus master's degree), master's level, and bachelor's level, with each requiring passage of a qualifying national exam

Creates the Social Work Licensure Compact Commission, a joint interstate agency with one delegate per member state, to administer the compact, maintain a shared data system for licensure and disciplinary information, and adopt binding rules

States retain authority to take adverse actions against practitioners and must report disciplinary actions to the shared data system; encumbered multistate licenses are automatically deactivated in all member states

Compact becomes effective when seven states enact it; states may withdraw with 180 days notice after enacting a repealing statute
