School districts and their corresponding human service zones may designate representatives to form a child safety liaison work group focused on child safety issues

Work groups must address roles and responsibilities of child protective services and mandatory reporters, opportunities for improved relations between human service zones and school districts, and coordination of services for children and families

Membership must be proportional to the population served with equal representation from school districts and human service zones, and groups must meet at least twice annually

Annual reports are due by July 31 to the human service zone board, school board, and children's cabinet, including recommendations, proposed solutions, progress, training needs, and identified gaps in service coordination

Human service zones are responsible for coordinating work group meetings; passed House 73-18 and Senate 43-3
